Dwts season 18: week 10 night 2

It's the final show. Tonight we find out who wins and are also reminded of the stars who left at the bringing of the season. Anne the reason they left so early. Just a warning, I've only slept 2 hours after being awake for about 24. I may be a bit snarky/sassy. Guess James' fans had nothing better to do but get them the encore. The team loca encore was a really good look at the differences between the final four girls. Candace is still the weakest. Drew. Entertaining but technique sucked. Especially when compared to the pros The clips with Erin were funny. Charlie and Meryl looked like they took their ice routine and danced it on wood. Nene. She stood in place and shook. That was not a dance. Danica. Why isn't she in the finale? Cody. Can the chorus to that song have any fewer unique words? Charlie. As good as the original performance. Even he had to laugh at that malfunction. At least he didn't drop it.   James. Still don'...

Dwts Season 18: week 10 night 1

Round 1 (switch-up redo) James. Interesting dress, odd hair. Why did she break hold? Why didn't they call her on it? Better posture tonight but there was something missing for me. Not 10 worthy for me, barely 9s. Meryl. Yay! Better song than last time, not as sharp. I agree with the scores. Candace. She forgot the routine a few times, her frame was too upright. She didn't look comfortable until the very end of the dance. Odd hair on her as well. Too high. Amy. No hips, which may be a balance thing with her. And too many swivels. She has improved but the actual steps used are minimal. Too high for me. Round 2 (freestyle) James. Not that found of hip hop. Lost synch in a place or two. It was cool in some places but didn't really do anything for me. I'll agree with Len. Meryl. Yay! Again. That I enjoyed. Beautiful dance. I agree with the scores. Candace. It was cute, but some of the transitions were awkward. A bit too cheesy for me. I agree...

Dwts season 18: week 9

Candace. She looked uncomfortable and was forgetting the routine. Viennese Waltz is one of the simplest dances and it came across jerky. The timing between the two got out of sync near the end. Too high. Not worth 9s. Charlie. I liked that one. It was smooth and jazzy like a proper American foxtrot. I'll agree with the scores. Amy. Cute. Switching feet helped. I'll give them the scores, but the feet can be a unfair advantage. It's not like changing shoes. Too high for me, it was good but not that good. James. Eh. He was Pigeon toed slightly and was hopping into the new yorkers. His feet were sloppy during the cha cha steps. Back foot shouldn't be just the toe in the floor. Too high. Meryl. Fun dance. A few places she could improve but not many, small details. I agree with the score. Round 2 Candace. They almost felt like a dancing equivalent of paint by numbers. Felt disconnected. Too high. Charlie. That song is not a samba, his shoes looked l...

Dwts season 18: week 8

Charlie. I want her dress. I liked it. Better than he has been doing. It looked a bit odd when they first got into hold. They also got a good song. I'll give them the scores. Danica. Interesting dress. I felt as if Val was dragging her around while they were in hold. I don't like the boots on her feet. I agree with the scores. Meryl. Some technique was lost due to the lack of heels, but they wouldn't have fit with the story. I'll agree with the scores. Candace. Meh. The routine was cute but I didn't care for it. There were some good moments, but there were a lot of places that needed work. And there were a few positions at the end that weren't pretty. A little high for me. James. Felt a little jerky and looked a little off kilter during the spins. His knees being that bent the entire time didn't help with how odd he looks in hold. Not worth a 10. A little high for me. Amy. It helped that they stayed in hold when she was on her feet. Some...

Dwts season 18: week 7

Amy. She tried. But Derek was helping her out a lot. Anyone else would get picked on for being in hold the whole time. Due to her disability it had a bit of a jilted feel at times. And it was repetitive. Too high for me. James. He did move his hips. But there was a bit too much stationary section. He also had too many steps in the samba rolls. Too high. Danica. It felt careful, but part of that was the rib. Very simple for this point in the competition and not much actual salsa. I'll give them the scores but they were generous. Nene. The music didn't match. She still had the same problems as always. Careful and soft. Too high. Charlie. Really strange song choice. He seemed a bit hoppy at times. He should've been more grounded. He also seemed to high during his turns. I would've given 8s. Not a 10. Candace. I like her dress. The song and choreography was a little weird. Too much stopping. I'll give her the scores but a little high for me. Mer...

Dwts season 18: week 6

Nene. There was shaking. But no hips in the basics. Her grunge didn't move. By oozing up her knees like that she didn't rotate her hips to get the hip motion. There was very little actual salsa. Over praised and over scored. Candace. Maybe it was the song but it looked robotic. There was no hips during the actual cha cha parts. Cha cha is sharp but there's also some fluidity. Locksteps sucked. Over praised and over scored, again. James. He looked like he was leaning forward a bit in hold. Other times his feet looked sloppy. Part of it may be the sneakers rather than actual shoes. Don't know if it was 9s. Danica. The song is barely a cha cha. Maybe that's why Val didn't put that much in. Her knees could have been straighter during some transitions, mainly spins. That being said, what she did do was pretty good. I'll the the the 9s just because of where they pace so far Meryl. I liked it. I was having trouble seeing her feet because it was so ...

Dwts season 18: week 5

I loved the opening. So fun. Drew. He seemed cautious. During the part with genie, you could see he was not doing things as much as Cheryl. He needed to put his shoulders back when in hold. I guess I'll give them the scores. Charlie. Cute routine. Felt a bit more Broadway rather than jazz but oh well. I'll agree with the scores. Danica. Not to much body contact except for when they were spinning. She was a little to straight up. But it was cute. I don't know if it was 10s. Amy. Unfortunately there wasn't very much Waltz. A lot of standing in place. But I knew ballroom would be hard for her. I think she was scored high for what she did. Cody. Cute routine, but he had no samba technique. No hips, flat footed. He didn't look like he was dancing samba and was standing around a bit too much. I like her outfit. Too high. Nene. She enjoyed the jazzy parts but she walked through the parts in hold. I don't know if she purposefully didn't stra...

DWTS season 18: week 4

Candace w/ Tony. It was cute. Her frame could have been better. I realize it was rock and they could get away with wild a bit more. I'll agree with the scores. James w/ Cheryl. I liked it but felt he was landing either flat foot or top toeing around. His lower body looked awkward, either because of the previous observation or causing. He could have closed his feet more too. Can I have her dress? Don't know if it was 9s given his position. Drew w/ Whitney. Entertaining as always but felt small and stiff. No hips except the thrusting. Not his best dance. He does better with ballroom. Over scored. Danica w/ Maks. The kicks and flicks were very good. It was a fun number. Cute ending. The high heeled sneakers looked odd. I'll agree with the scores. Charlie w/ Peta. It seemed to be a lot of spinning, and Charlie going low to switch sides. There wasn't much I could point out was syllabus. No hip action. Don't think it was 9s. Amy w/ Mark. A basic salsa...

DWTS season 18: week 3

James. It was decent but he wasn't finishing things. His arms at times, other times his feet. Overly praised from the Judges. Over scored. Billy Dee. It's probably a good thing he can't dance tonight. Nene. Better than her other two dances. But her hip swivels looked awkward. There was no other hip action. The leg action was wrong too. I don't know if part of it was due to being barefoot. Over scored. No 8s, 7s at best. Cody. Felt more lyrical hip hop than jazz. And it seemed one level to me. 8s at best, not 9s. Danica. I liked it. It flowed nicely. For the first time tonight, the Judges weren't obey praising. I'll give them the scores. Drew. I liked the dance but he looked heavy, the rise and fall was not smooth. He could've been smoother throughout the whole dance. Can I have Cheryl's dress? I'll agree with the scores. Meryl. Beautiful foxtrot. There's bit much I can pick on. I'll agree with the scores. Amy. Bea...

DWTS season 18: week 2

First off, much better opening than last week. Drew. Entertaining but sloppy. Latin is going to be challenging for him through the rest of his season. Don't think it good enough for 7s. Danica. No bounce, knees were bent the entire time and she needed to finish her arms. Carrie ann was watching a student dance than me. I like her dress. Better than Drew's Jive but I don't know if it was 8s. Billy Dee. He did more than last week but looked liked he was marking it. Too minimal, Emma and the girls were doing so much more than him. He's sweating more than he should be given the effort I saw. Meryl. Very jitter bug. But definitely swing.  I enjoyed it. I'll agree with the scores but could've been a bit higher. Diana. That is why she went home. Not good and zero fan base. Candace. I didn't like it. No hips, bent knees, abs looking like she was tip toeing. Rumba should be fluid. That wasn't. Also that song almost sounded like a Viennese...

DWTS season 18: week 1

I didn't like the opening. Too much focus on Jason Derulo and not enough actual dancing by the pros. NeNe. 2/3 of the dance was not dancing. Saw very little cha cha and wasn't well executed. She performed but I don't know if her personality will endear most of America. Scored too high based on what I saw. Jason. Very choppy. No smooth connection between steps. A little high but more worthy than NeNe. Danica. Not bad. Once I got past the music choice. I liked it better then Jason's. I'll agree based on previous performances. Sean. Karina was pretty but it felt a bit flat. Hmm... lowest score for now. Billy Dee. Uh. I could barely pick out the steps. 5s are being nice. Meryl. Clean, good lock steps. Need to straighten her knees a bit more. Best cha cha of the night. I'll agree. Candace. Interesting but a bit one note with the choreography. Not that it wasn't well done. Don't think it deserved a 9. Cody. Pretty good. He need...

DWTS season 18 cast

It's that time again. Dancing with the Stars has announced their new cast. Time for my opinions and predictions. Sean Avery and Karina: I don't follow hockey so I have no idea who he is. When I watched the cast announcement I didn't feel like he had much of a personality. The only little bit was when he spun Karina at the end. He's the sports player for the season but I don't know how far he'll go. Candance Cameron-Bure and Mark: I used to love Full House. That being said I don't know how big the fanbase for her will be so hopefully she can dance and Mark doesn't do odd choreography again. Drew Carey and Cheryl: He's lost a lot of weight. If I hadn't seen the announcement, I would've put him in the 'not going to be able to move' category. Now I'm not sure. He is funny and it will probably keep him around for a while. Meryl Davis and Maks: She has ballroom training. Derek choreographed the short dance for her and Charlie. T...
