Sew Dance

Finished the Easter ornament. Also visited with Clyde this weekend. I got the 2nd shot and stayed with my parents for the night in case of symptoms that would knock me on my butt. They did not appear. However, I did get Clyde staying with me. He ignored me the following day.  It's getting warm, so big crochet projects will not be selected. So time to roll the dice for my next cross stitch WIP.

 I've mostly been writing, not a lot of crafting, but I made my parents matching hats for Christmas and the ball for Clyde. Also made one ornament for the tree. Had to have a new one. And I started on a dragon shawl. Lots and lots of crocodile stitches...   Lots of photos of Clyde in the past month.   Silly kitty.

The dice picked out a Christmas Ornament kit. I finished one design, but was getting "aida burn" on the knuckle of my left ring finger from how I was placing my hand on the rough fabric. So, I went back to Lanarte's Mystery SAL. I finished Part 8, but I still have 9 and 10 to do to catch up. Shouldn't take that long. I did figure out what I'm going to do for Stitch Maynia. I've compiled a list of projects that are ready to go. I have three columns: was only given whole skeins, kits, and BAPS. Roll regular die for major column choice, then appropriate sized die to select from there. I have 25 in the 1st, 2 'areas' in the 2nd, and 17 in the 3rd. I've been preparing as much as I can. Mostly when the tapping noise from the heating pipe gets too annoying. I'm also going to do a post each day with a no background pattern and possibly fabric. Feel free to chime in on those. I'm about 1/3 of the way through page 2 of Waterfall Dragons now. But I took a small break to make a new ornament. Also spent time rearranging how things were stored in my craft closet (of doom) So I could use this as a way of picking my next project. Almost everything ends with a roll of a D20. And saw Clyde. Here he is in his tree. Looking into getting him a new (taller) one for Christmas. Maybe not in Beige.

So I made another ornament. And while I did a little work on the knit afghan, I caught a cold this weekend and tried not to work on it while germy. So I started the "Vintage Mandala" afghan. The pile of yarn is 2 rows of work that I frogged twice because of a mistake, the initial one, and one I made during the redo a little later in the round. And on Tuesday, Clyde turned 3! Here are some of my favorite photos I took that day.

Two more ornaments are finished. So, thanks to a post from  Katie  about a facebook group, I found a new cross stitch challenge just in time for July. As you can see I've already completed one letter of the challenge (O for the above Owl). I've picked up The Accolade. I have 5 new starts planned, including a kit (which is my vacation piece) and 2 SALs (one ongoing, one completed but I never started. Oops.) Also using Waterfall Dragons as the current HAED challenge which is to stitch 10,000 stitches on a single piece before the end of the year. They estimate it's about a 1.5 pages. It's doable. Got a few pieces of stash in the mail, waiting on a yard of fabric. Oh look, a bag of floss from Joann's... I did see they now carry the 35 new colors and the etoile line. I did find the missing project bag, it was at my parents. Phew, crisis averted. Replacement dragon came, still a bit broken, but I can probably "fix" it by finding somethin...

Finished another ornament. And picked Fantasy Triptych back up. Also did some organizing. All the projects I had kitted up myself were in plastic bags. Transferred them to expanding folders. Next Amazon order I'll get another set of these and one of a slightly bigger expansion for a few (including Insanity) A little bummed two dragons I ordered came broken. The one on the left is getting replaced, but the one on the right was the last one... Hello from Clyde. And I couldn't resist the HAED sale... Other stash is on it's way... Currently searching for the piece of paper with my fabric layout...
