2021 sucked just as bad if not more so than 2020.😅 Last year's goals: Other than a New Year start, work on cross-stitch WIPs. Finish at least 2 crochet/knit kits in my craft closet (of doom). Officially pair hand-dyed fabrics with no background cross stitch patterns. Edit my 2020 NaNo novel and try and get an agent/manager for publishing. I realize I could self-publish, but I will probably also need representation as a screenwriter. Finish/polish my Leverage spec script I wrote this summer. Preferably so it is in the Leverage 2 universe. Of course that needs to be released, but I guess I can work out some plot kinks in the meantime. Something I can't fully control, write a script that will place in a contest. Did I complete them? I started an ornament. I completed it so it at least didn't add to my WIP count. Yes.  Yeah, so this year sucked. 😂 Plans were definitely derailed. The goals I set were as follows: Stitch from stash using my dice method of picking projects Complete a cross stitch that's not an ornament Get in better shape Find a job Edit my 2019 Nano novel and attempt to publish it. I did #1 and #2, almost had #4 (but Covid derailed the first one and they chose someone else for the 2nd), and I attempted #5. I at least started to edit, but as part of my novel was supposed to take place in the present I didn't really want to work on it. I rolled my dice to select projects 60 times. 47 were new starts, 30 in May. Finished 5 cross stitch, scarves, and 4 other crochet items. Second half of the year was not very crafty. Welcome to the end of 2019. It's been a bit of a crazy year, especially near the end. So here were my goals for 2019. Reduce the number of kits in my craft closet (of doom) I would like to be able to see part of the floor if possible. Knit another item. Finish all the ornament kits I bought in 2018. Lose 5 pounds. How did I do? Hahaha. I think I added to the kits, even with taking some to my parents I still can't see the floor. Done. Actually knitted 3 things. All afghans. Don't think I quite got here. I definitely made a dent though. I actually did this. 10 actually. 2018 was a year of ups and down in my life. Got a new job, broke up with a boyfriend, trying to find new boyfriend... (By the way, online dating pretty much goes against all my natural tendencies and can be overwhelming. Too many people!) Anyway, my goals for the year were as follows. Work on my rotation. Other than the one new start I'm allowing myself, no new cross-stitch. Knit an item. Edit one of my stories. I got through my rotation once, so that was good. I did knit a hat, even wore it once. However I didn't edit a story. I didn't even participate in NaNoWriMo this year because my new job has me mentally exhausted at the end of the day from having to write so much in such a short time span. (Thank you NaNoWriMo for preparing me for that) I had 10 cross stitch finishes (all mill hill kits), 25 crochet finishes (many small snowmen and ruffle scarves), and 1 knitting finish. Overall, not the greatest year I've had.  2017 goals were: Work on a GK/HAED. Finish some kits in my closet that can be displayed in my apartment. Learn to knit. Attempt to be less sedentary. And I achieved: Yup. Lots, including Insanity. Also yup, although most are not displayed. Started. Went to the gym for the later half of the year until mid-december when holidays and freezing temperatures kept my butt inside. I finished 3 cross-stitch (including one ornament), 9 crochet projects, and 1 in the other category. Somehow I finished more last year despite working... 2018 goals: Work on my rotation. Let's see... my goals for 2016. Turn yarn/fabric stash into finished projects. I figure I should cut down my stash in my closet. Yarn/fabric is bulkier and heavier than my cross stitch so I may concentrate on those. Get back to dancing. Which should help improve my unmet goal (2) from last year. I will get back to insanity. But the height of my bed plus my new lamp hasn't made working on GK's easy to use the magnifying glass. Learn to knit.  Yeah, didn't happen. I did this for about 9 months. Then I bought the apartment and couldn't afford both. Not quite. My new stitching place is the right height, but I need another pillow to keep my from sliding away from the arm. Nope. Didn't have the time. I have all the materials I need but never quite got around to it. I did however finish 12 crochet projects, 4 cross stitch projects, and 2 I'll categorize as other. Now, my goals from next year. Find a full-time job. Improve my stamina. Finish 2 cross-stitch projects and 2 pages of a GK/HAED. And the results. Almost? Yeah. Didn't happen. Will this year just from not being able to sit all day, hopefully. Finished 10 cross stitch pieces and 29 ornaments for a total of 39, 16 crochet projects, 4 other craft projects, and 4 pages of In the Garden (not a GK/HAED but I'll take it). This has been a strange year. Lots of ups and downs. Mostly down until near the end of the year when my luck seems to be picking up. Here were my goals from last year. Find a job. This is a must but I'd prefer sooner rather than later. The job hunt will start Jan. 2. Stitch only from my stash that I have at the moment. (see button on right and additional post here ) Complete some sewing projects (my own additional stitch from stash) Reorganize my craft closet, again. It's nice for a while but gets messy after a bit. Will be easier to accomplish after #2 & #3 have been worked on. Clean up my facebook friends. Write something, or come up with an idea that I can produce myself without the backing of a major studio. My mom's goal for me is to find a boyfriend. How did I do? Found a job. I'm not quite sure I can believe a year has gone by. It's been a busy year. I started and finished my Masters this year. I took a break from dancing due to lack of funds and when I started to get back into it, at least socially, I found another amateur to dance with. We have our first competition together in mid-January. These were last years goals: Find a part-time job. Complete a UFO in my stash (or complete at least 4 pages of a BAP). Lose five more pounds. Complete my Masters with a 3.5 GPA. Get an internship. Rip my CD collection to my computer. Write another story. Attempt Script Frenzy in April (coincides with one of my classes) How well did I fair? Didn't quite look hard enough plus school kept me pretty busy. I finished lots of projects but none I would really consider a UFO. Seven cross-stitch, 1 dress, and five crochet I actually lost 10. I think this makes up for not quite reaching my goal last year. Completed my Masters with a 4.0. Got two fo...

I finished a little over a quarter this week. I forgot how quick a stitch these are. I think spring has finally come to my area. It's finally reached above 50 degrees for more than one or two days. I register for my summer and fall classes Tuesday and I'll be finished with my Masters in December. I'm still in the process of applying for internships. If I don't manage to get one for the summer, I'll be applying for extra work. I'll at least get on set and will be able to observe the 'creative process' of filming. In the meantime, I've signed up for Camp NaNoWriMo, which is like NaNoWriMo but I can set my own goal. I've decided to turn my '11 NaNoNovel into a script with a goal of 20,000 words. Wish me luck. I also completed one of my new year's resolutions. I ripped my CD collection to my computer. There are still a few outstanding disks (the one's in my car and another CD sleeve) but 95% are now digital. Yay.

I started this blog one year ago today. I figure I might as well sum up the past year. While I feel 2012 was a bad year for me in general, it was a good year for my crafting. These were my resolutions for last year: 1. Lose another 10 lbs. 2. Finish at least one cross-stitch project that I have in my stash. 3. Organize my craft closet. While I didn't complete #1, I did lose a few pounds. They all came off the first two weeks in December while I did nothing but work on my crafts in my bed while watching Murder She Wrote via Netflix. Go figure. As for #2, I exceeded this goal by finishing five cross-stitch pieces. Granted three of them were acquired after I made that resolution and weren't in my stash... I really outdid myself if you count all the scarves I made. I did complete #3, everything was nicely organized and put away. Then I got more yarn and it got messy again. Oh well. The latest update on Dew Drop Fairy. I wasn't able to post yesterday due to the showcase. I'll get the video up on youtube as soon as my teacher sends it to me. Unfortunately the one I asked someone to record using my phone didn't save. Does anyone remember the picture of the closet I planned to organize as one of my new year's resolutions? I may be cleaning it out sooner than I thought as I'm planning to move into my own apartment later this year, hopefully mid-June. For now I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to organize it there as I'll have significantly smaller space.

Projects startedjust before the new year were a new latin dress that I believe I mentioned in my previous post and the dimensions kit 'Frederick'. Right now neither looks like much so no pictures. I'll take a picture of the dress when it looks a bit more than just an unfinished bathing suit.
