Trials and Tribulations

Image
The non-counted cross stitch wasn't too bad at first. Tried to follow the stitching via the backstitching. Figured I could fudge a bit here and there. Ribbons fine, forelock: decent. Main: ugh. I don't know if I need to fudge the main, start one stitch lower, bring up what I had already put on the blue ribbon. Anyway, this is back in my closet. Picked up The Accolade, but realized the PDF I was sent was a different version. Original 6 patterns from GK were pre-password. While waiting for the correct one I made my Mom a scarf for her birthday. I called it Sully because it reminded me of the character from Monsters Inc. And progress on The Accolade now that I have it working on Pattern Keeper. Arab Tent and Insanity have different symbols, but seem to match up pattern-wise. Easier to redo my floss cards than to try and mess with the files. Plus, I can put the blends in the same order as PK and make them easier to find. And on a different note, I got Clyde a new c...

Fall leaf shawl

Image
This week's project was mainly this shawl that I had last worked on when I did overnights at News12. Also worked on this scarf Monday/Tuesday, feather and fan stitch with a sparkly ball of yarn. Also started a long time ago. I had to rewind my yarn because my hand would ball was locked and wouldn't pull from the center. Oops. Ended up with a leak in my ceiling/wall due to the top cap of the pipe that carries the hot water for the heat failing. Had two giant paint bubbles jutting out from the wall. Building will be fixing it in the coming week.

The 2nd peacock.   Also made this. And here's Onyx laying between 2 pillows and a folded afghan. I also succumbed to ABC Stitch's 20% off sale. I did stick to the clearance page. I had been perusing it a week ago. A few things I saw had gone by the time I decided to actually order something.    Also bought yarn for a Mystery CAL . Rather, my mom bought it. She picked out the colors. She's been wanting an afghan for a while but could never tell me exactly what she wanted. Yarn on the left is the main color.

I've been a bad girl

I didn't work on any cross-stitch this week. I was crocheting only. I got one side of the ripples done on the afghan. But because of the repetitiveness, I alternated with a doily. I had done some of this earlier during one of my long breaks at school. When I got bored with making scarves. But now for the reason for the title of this post. I've been very bad this week with acquiring stash. Let's start with some I purchased these a few weeks ago at a local store, Annie's and Co., but kept forgetting to add them to my posts. Be A Dragon by Enchanting Lair (came with the variegated thread and the charm) 28ct Cashel in Jade by Enchanting Lair (it's darker than the photo) Mermaid's Love Tokens by Praiseworthy Stitches (came with the beads, pin, and fish) I don't know what made me look at sew and so's site, but I did. And I noticed one of my wishlist items was discontinued and they only had 3 left in stock. So I caved and bought it...
