Sew Dance

I didn't continue with the stocking. Wound up with a new knitting project. Got this far before pinching my finger with my tripod making it uncomfortable for me to hold the needle. So, new project, again. The dice gave me a new crochet kit. The most easily accessible on being this afghan which I don't really remember buying. Oops. It happens to be Tunisian crochet. I haven't done much of that technique, but while simple enough, getting gauge correct was a PITA. It's not wide enough, yet it's too tall. Given the mosaic nature, if I can't get it correct, the piece won't look good. I didn't feel like dealing with it given so many others that wouldn't frustrate me, so I rolled again. New cross stitch. It's Only Forever SSMC. This was my bead stash that came in for 5 different projects. Also caved to the HAED sale. Most are no background to pair with my hand dyed fabric. The Spangler was because I missed baseball. ...

And the knit afghan is complete. Despite having to frog the border twice and losing 2 days of work in the process. Eventually I just started to sew it to the edge, then continued knitting it when I realized I needed more. Will be delivered to the recipient soon. And I made another 'Yes, Yes' shawl. Made with Unforgettable in Polo. Will make another one in Winery shortly. Have written over 40 thousand words so far for NaNoWriMo. So I'm officially unemployed. More time to craft though, but not much money to buy things. So, for the time being it's a Stitch From Stash challenge. Finally finished the main part of this afghan. Working on the border which will be sewn to the body and then crocheted around. Yay for being bi-craftual. Took a few kits out of this closet and moved them to my parents. Didn't make too much of a dent... I caught up with NaNoWriMo this week. Haven't written yet today, but I will get to that after posting. These were ordered before my stash diet. Yarn from HAED. A perk of my free time, in addition to craft time, more opportunity to see Clyde.

Finally back to working on this afghan. I'm almost done with the 3rd repeat. One more after that than making the border, which ends up being knit, then sewn on, and finally crocheted. Saw Clyde, he wasn't happy about the flash. And in NaNoWriMo news, I used up my extra words on Tuesday because election night coverage was insane. I was utterly exhausted and never quite recovered the rest of the week which made my word count miserable Thursday and Friday. Almost caught up this weekend. I like the graphs they're giving us but I don't see the little widget I used to post. Probably bought a few things I didn't need to giving the end of my current job on Friday (yay for unemployment?). Like the HAED Christmas Addicts packet. And took part in the Lilla Rose Stylists Black Friday. Want to check out my Facebook page ? I might try for a live video to show what I got.

I finished the Study of Planet Earth CAL. Yay! Another project done. However I did buy the yarn this year. After putting my last bit of stash in my craft closet (of doom) I'm pretty sure I have more than I started the year with. Oh well. Plenty of time to catch up on some things before the end of the year with the way my job search is going. And this is progress on my friend's afghan. However the temp climbed up and this one is getting a bit large so back to cross stitching. So, I made a  facebook page  for my Lilla Rose business. I've been thinking, they make good shawl pins. Use one to keep your shawl on at a wedding, then when you warm up from dancing, pin your hair up. Hehe. No nibbles on the job front quite yet, despite the increased views on my LinkedIn . Might start looking for places to be a vendor, assuming they don't have a big upfront cost.

So, started off the week knitting. Then it got cool enough that I wouldn't overheat with this on my legs. Might have to go back to knitting for a few days even though I'm on the 2nd to last part of the CAL. And I made one last purchase of stash. Not that I didn't have enough to keep me occupied through potential unemployment, but they were just so pretty, and on sale, and you have no idea how much I didn't buy...

So this is all I got to for Waterfall Dragons before developing a crick in my neck for a few days. Which led to going back to this until it started getting a little too warm. And then starting this which is a wedding present for a former co-worker. She chose the yarn and pattern. I was worried the pattern would get lost in the yarn, but it's turning into a nice gradient. So, not sure what Clyde was looking at here. But I did get him on TV for Black Cat Appreciation day. Speaking of work, I will no longer have a job by the middle of November. A contract was not renewed so my services (along with about 150 other people) will no longer be required. The closure many people, including governors in two states, weighing in as a local TV news outlet will be disappearing. That being said, I've started job hunting again. Any help would be appreciated and I will really have to stick to my "no stash buying" rule I tried to implement earlier this month.....
