DWTS Season 22: week 10 night 2

It's the final night of season 22. All the stars are back (good and bad) Good opening, but who messed up the hike? Doug or Karina? Kim. She performs, but you can tell the difference between her and the pros very easily. Paige. Still a good dance. I love Kenny when he's not dancing. And Doug is still bad just based on that 30 second exit to break. Nyle. Still had a few things wrong with technique. Love bloopers. Why was one member of fifth harmony wearing a white jumpsuit while the others had silver dresses? Nice save with the towel. Ginger. Also still a good dance. Antonio. Still a cute routine, but still not a fan of his dancing. Yay Maks! And Val! Jodie. Good routine. And the game show was stupid. A Viennese waltz done on a tiny stage, not easy. Wayna. He should've been in the finals. But I still am irked by that leg position he always has. Ah, gorgeous men dancing around. Not my favorite Pitbull son...

DWTS Season 22: week 10 night 1

Here we are at the finale. Tomorrow night, we'll have a new champion.   Redemption round Ginger. I liked it. It felt a little held back, but given her injury I'm not surprised. I agree with the scores. Nyle. It looked a bit frantic at times and too much side shuffling/cantering. Too high for me. Paige. Fun. Sharp and a fair amount of basic footwork. It didn't rely on lifts. But she didn't have a lot of hip action. I'll agree with the scores. Freestyle round. Ginger. Cute. I like that song. I felt they could have done a bit more at the beginning. I'll give them the scores. Nyle. It was good but I saw a few times out of sync. Apparently I don't get emotionally involved in his dances. A little high for me. Paige. I liked this one better than Nyle's. Maybe it was the song. I agree with the scores.

DWTS Season 22: Week 9

It's the semi-finals.   Trio round Paige. Let the molting begin (feather joke). I liked it. She was a bit hoppy at times but I think that was the bare feet. I'll give her the scores. Antonio. I felt it was a dance by numbers routine. His posture could be better. Too high for me. Wanya. His legs were better. Really only saw them during the walks forward and back. But his posture wasn't right. Other than that it was a good dance. A little high for me. Nyle. His kicks and flicks were a bit stiff. Her also got off time a few times. A little high for me. Ginger. I liked it. A little too much switching legs near the end. She seemed to get spun around rather than be in control. I agree with the scores. Round 2 Paige. Woo hoo. I agree with the scores. Antonio. Clever choreography. But I wasn't that impressed with the dance. Too high for me. Wanya. That was fun. I agree with the scores. Nyle. Eh. His feet were bothering me. Too ...

DWTS Season 22: Week 8

Nyle. The song wasn't very paso. His butt was sticking out so the shape wasn't correct. Too high for me. Antonio. Better than usual worth the footwork. A few strange places, the fleckeral was shuffling. This was a good dance to concentrate on details. A little high. Jodie. That was fun. I agree with the scores. Paige. I liked the waltz. Could have done without the animation sequence. Can I have her shoes? I agree with the 9s. Ginger. The lighting made it hard to see her feet at times. But I liked it. It had a good balance of frenetic and sultry. I agree with the scores. Wanya. I love that song. I liked it but his kicks and flicks looked a bit off. He needs to fix his natural stance. Going with the western theme, he looked like he had been riding a horse all day. There were mistakes. I agree with the scores. Judges round Team Bruno. Interesting. Too high for me. Team Len. That was cute. Not much bounce, but cute. Too high for me. Team ...

DWTS Season 22: Week 7

Icons night Jodie. Not bad. But he looked to be pulling her around the floor. Her butt was sticking out a bit, may have been corrected if their hips were connected. 8s yes, 9s no. Kim. That song is not a samba. No bounce, no hips. Her knees were straight the entire time. The judges are being too nice. Methinks she's going home. Way too high. Nyle. I liked it, but there were a few things off about his frame. That song wasn't a foxtrot. Wouldn't call it a 10. Antonio. His butt was out and he was leaning forward the entire time. Messed up a bit. I liked the choreography. Too high for me. Wanya. That was good. A few times he looked bow legged. I agree with the scores. Ginger. A very pretty Viennese waltz with contact at the hips in hold. I agree with the scores. Von. Eh. Song didn't help me envision salsa. The salsa part was very basic. No hips and footwork was iffy. Little too high. Paige. I liked it. A little too much Tina and not en...

DWTS Season 22: Week 6

Cute opening Kim. Entertaining but the flicks were out rather than down (on purpose?)  She was overshadowed by everyone else around her. Too high for me. Von. He didn't own the dance. He didn't feel like he went all out. Too high for me. Jodie. It was mostly lifts and not much dancing. Bit the emotion was there. 8s maybe, not a 9. Paige. Cute. Very groovy baby. I agree with the scores. Nyle. I liked it. Better than the previous Quickstep to that song... *cough*  a few timing issues and he could've had a better frame. He wasn't standing up straight. I'll give him the scores. Ginger. Hehe. Sharp and precise. Didn't get swallowed by the pros. I'll give her the scores. Maybe a little low. Doug. Clearly could tell the difference between him and the pros. Too high. Wanya. What can I say? He's good. I agree with the scores. Antonio. His footwork was sloppy, especially at the end. Too high for me. And we say goodbye t...

DWTS Season 22: week 5

Switch up time! With Maks as a judge! Wanya. He looked hunched over a bit. I know tango requires bent knees but he looked bow legged. Watch the posture in hold. I'll give him the scores. Kim. It took a while for her to start to dance. But there wasn't much basic steps. Not worth 8s. Doug. His frame was bad. Bent over and butt out. Not worth 7s for me. Ginger. A little too much shimmying. But she kept the fringe moving. I agree with the scores. Antonio. Fun but the cha cha was rough. Too high. Paige. I liked it but she needed more hips. But not much syllabus steps. I'll give her the scores. Von. His footwork was horrible. Very flat footed. Too high. Nyle. Not bad. It did expose a few technical weaknesses. I don't know if it was worth 10s. Jodie. That song made it hard for me to see paso. I'll give her the scores.  No elimination as they don't make someone go home based solely on the switch up scores. That being said, Dou...

DWTS Season 22: Week 4

Disney night, happiest night of the season. Antonio. Cute. But still felt a bit dance by numbers. It could've been a smoother jazz. Too high. Marla. The arrangement of the song had me distracted. It was hard to hear the timing. A few odd parts. I'll give her the scores. Nyle. Cute and fun. Technique was rough, but most samba's are. I'll give him the scores, but a little high. Doug. He couldn't keep up with Karina or the choreography. Too high. Kim. I liked it but for some reason I found her shoes distracting because they were so thick. I'll give her the scores. Jodie. Needed more hips and to straighten her legs. A few mistakes. I'll give her the scores. Von. Not bad. Much better for him. Pretty basic but this dance is supposed to be. I'll give him the scores. Ginger. I think that was my favorite dance so far. I agree with the scores. Wayna. Techno remix? Promenade runs looked a bit funky. Pretty good elsewhere. I agre...

DWTS Season 22: Week 3

Grab the tissues. Ginger. It was cute. A bit staccato. I'll give her the scores. Doug. Footwork was atrocious and overall jerky. Good partnering though. Too high. Kim. Not bad. Frame could be better but the foxtrot was just above walking through it. A little high for me. Von. Meh. Not very fluid, a bit dance by numbers. Too high. Marla. Hello Stamford DWM. Footwork was muddy. Kicks and flicks needed to be sharper. A little high but I'll give it to her. Antonio. He kept rushing a bit. Other parts were too sharp. I saw hopping. Overall it was inconsistent but nothing was excellent. Too high. Paige. I liked it. It did deviate from paso from it worked for her. I agree with the scores. Jodie. Probably should've been a contemporary piece rather than a foxtrot. But it was good. Her head was in the correct position for a while. I agree with the scores. Mischa. I don't think I would've known it was samba without the little tag. She may...

DWTS Season 22: Week 2

Latin night used to be week 5... Jodie. Not bad but her costume  seemed to not allow her to move her midsection. Feet and legs were a little muddled at times. Not enough bounce or hips. I'll give her the scores. Marla. A bit too staccato for me. A few wonky lines. A bit high for me. Geraldo. Awkward on so many levels. Too high. Paige. I liked it. Could've used more hips in the basic though. Props to do lifts with a new partner in 2 hours. I agree with the scores. Antonio. He didn't do anything and his knees were bent the entire time. No hips because he never had an opportunity to use them. Too high. Kim. She lost it a bit at the end. More hips required. That fringe should never stand still. I'll give her the scores. Nyle. I liked it even if he need to use his hips and I saw heel leads. It was pretty fast and spinny. Can I have her dress, maybe in a different color? I'll give him the scores. Mischa. Thank you for the subtitle ...

DWTS Season 22: week 1

Woo-hoo! Kim. Better than I would've thought. May have had a heel lead during the lock steps. But it moved forward. Could've used more hips. Heels were a little low. And she's not annoying, so far. Unlike some other people from that show. I agree with the scores. Paige. Danced well but a little too fast and hoppy for a foxtrot. Song didn't help. Not much in hold. Not stiff like stiff of her male counterparts. I agree with the scores. Doug. Walked and hopped through the foxtrot. Won't last long unless he gets a lot better. Latin will probably be worse. I agree with the scores. Jodie. That should keep them around for a while. Frame needs a bit of work. I agree with the scores. Geraldo. Oh boy. Barely moved and it wasn't good. I forgot how long her legs are. I agree with the scores but I think they were generous. Marla. She has potential. Too straight in hold. Small little missteps. I'll agree with the scores. Wanye. Funky,...

DWTS Seasion 22: Cast announcement

And another season is upon us. Time to see who our cast is. 1. Actress Marla Maples (Donald Trump’s ex-wife) partnered with Tony Dovolani While it's nice to know she's famous for something other than being his ex. I don't think he needs any more publicity than he's getting. She seems to be one of the younger women Tony has been paired with. 2. “The O.C.” alum Mischa Barton partnered with Artem Chigvintsev I never watched this show, but nice to know Artem's back. 3. Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown partnered with Sharna Burgess I think this is a position that's good at running. So fitness level should be there. 4. Former NFL quarterback Doug Flutie partnered with Karina Smirnoff Quarterbacks usually have some agility and do fairly decently. although I'm unsure of how long he's been retired. 5. Boyz II Men’s Wanya Morris partnered with Lindsay Arnold He should have rhythm, but stamina and choreography may be beyond him. Boyz I...
