Half a mermaid

Her top half is done, minus specialty threads and beads. Also was asked to make two baby blankets, so I did those this week. Back to writing. I'm a little stuck on one piece, but started another. Hopefully something will jog loose for my other projects.

New projects

I've gotten a bit ambitious with the CAL. Started the top on Friday and have managed to make a part a day. And started the dress on Tuesday and am through part 3. Probably should've worked on it Monday rather than the baby blanket. Speaking of which, I have about 20 rows left. And here's Clyde looking cute in his tree while watching the rain hit the leaves of a bush.

slow going, but nearing the end

Knit a baby blanket, it won't take that long and you can practice your knitting. That's what I thought 2 weeks ago. Now I'm on the 3rd skein of yarn, but on the last page of instructions. At least I can call myself an intermediate knitter.

Kinda of looks like a bag right now...

So, I managed to make it to the 2nd length of circulars. I was going to switch again with the last increase, but now the stitches are gliding better and I still have some room. Also, not sure why I bought more yarn, I'm trying to reduce my stash, but I found this really pretty CAL on ravalry, and it's only free until May when the last part comes out... And I need to show my progress to the designer... So between that and needing to get a new K hook, I started putting things in my cart. Then I figure, I might as well make the shipment worth my while. So several pdf files of recently acquired patterns later, I had 13 different yarns for 8 projects... Oops. And let's not get into the shoes...

Afghan week

The baby blanket is complete. I had 4 days off and managed to complete up to the first row of part 7 of the Summer Cal. Spent some time fidgeting with one row and then forgot a repeat of the crossed stitches, so that ate up time redoing it. Plus other things I needed to get done. There's a pardoned turkey outside a local supermarket. Clyde on the stairs. I just noticed how monochrome this photo is.

The start of Christmas presents

Image
So I just realized I have a little over a month until Christmas. And I have a lot of presents and gifts to make, mostly crochet. So while the squares are complete for the afghan, sewing them together will have to wait. Also wasn't looking forward to it. Maybe I'll block them while working on other things. Such as this baby blanket that was requested. I'm over halfway through the yarn I bought so maybe another day or two? Also bought 6 kits during Lion Brand's sale. I got a box of yarn in return. Still have to make sure everything is in there, but I've been putting it off. And Clyde doesn't like the flash on the phone.

Finishes and stash

So I have another page finish. Page 6 of the Arab Tent, but it was already halfway done. I probably stopped there because I was tired of all the dark colors. Which is why I won't be going onto the next page just yet. Made a baby blanket a friend commissioned. And decided to try again for the Special Day Cardigan from Annie's catalog again. Still don't know how to get 13 sc to be 4" using a G but the height and back width seem to be coming out to the other measurements listed for the pattern. I also went a little crazy at Mary Maxim's. First they had a BOGO on downloadable patterns. Then I got good news which coincided with their 25% off afghan sale so I didn't feel guilty about spending... The book contains the pattern for a kit that I'm not keen on the color combos and the jewelry was just because it was on clearance. Can you tell I have an afghan obsession?
