Sew Dance

Second shawl complete. And I decided to participate in Marly Bird's make-a-long. So I bought yarn and started both versions. I finished the crochet version. Knitting may take a bit of time as the yarn is really slippery, even on bamboo needles. Once I finish stitching all my presents, I'm going back to the last HAED challenge and picking up Waterfall Dragons for about half a page. After that I'm unsure how I want to choose my projects. I could come up with a rotation like before. One cross stitch, one yarn craft. Or to choose my next project, roll some of the dice I have to choose. And some cute photos of Clyde. I will be putting up a Christmas tree in my parents house. It'll be their first since they got Clyde. Who wants to take a guess at how many times they'll find him in it?

And the knit afghan is complete. Despite having to frog the border twice and losing 2 days of work in the process. Eventually I just started to sew it to the edge, then continued knitting it when I realized I needed more. Will be delivered to the recipient soon. And I made another 'Yes, Yes' shawl. Made with Unforgettable in Polo. Will make another one in Winery shortly. Have written over 40 thousand words so far for NaNoWriMo. So I finished the shawl. Needs a bit of blocking. And I did go back to the cross stitch, had enough concentration for another few rows. It's getting cooler at night so I'll probably switch back to my knit project shortly.

I finished page 9 of In the Garden this week. Also finished this shawl.  And then there were the sales. I refrained from ABC Stitch's 20% off sale, but caved at Herrshners which had certain kits priced at 19.99 or lower. Making one I had been eyeing, 50% off. Then this cutie pillow. And these two ornaments. I did work the shirt I'm crocheting, but it doesn't look much different than last week's picture except it's longer.

I've gotten into a book series which has eaten into my crafting time this week. Page is almost done, just haven't finished it off, yet. Started a shawl.   And a shirt. And my yarn order came.  These were free gift, I think.   And here's some fabric I picked up. Mostly cotton with lycra. These are the colors for an afghan for a friend, but I'm not happy with the 2nd to last colors. Have another one coming. If that doesn't match better I'll just pick one because I'm out of options at that point. Although my camera makes it look like the bottom matches a bit better than I thought.  

I finished pages 2, 2a, and have most of 3 completed on Peacocks. If this looks familiar it's because it is. I finally finished my redo of my Chrysanthemum shawl. It now matches the finished size from the pattern, but I didn't use the 4th ball of yarn Also finished this little guy although I'm going to reattach his limbs so he's a little floppier. Right now he doesn't sit up on his own. Also going to add a mane. Also accomplished this week is forcing myself to write. I bought a course a few year ago and am going to make it through it to the end this time. I bundled the first 3 weeks of lessons together so at the moment, I'm letting my muse fly around and find me new ideas. So far it likes to bring them to me when I'm trying to go to sleep. I'm also back on the job hunt. I've had a freelance job since October and while that gave me peace of mind to take a rest from applying for a while, it's only once or twice a week now th...

My progress so far on Fantasy Triptych. So happy I get to work with a colors other than gold/brown and "stone". Started another afhgan. Have to make 98 of these spirals before joining.   Also picked up the cathdral rose window afghan and ran out of gemstone. It's sort of discontinued. Pick up a skein on Ebay, it's close enough even with the longer color changes. Thankfully, it's going to be used on 'heptagons'. I can intersperse the newer yarn with the older and hopefully no one will be able to tell. (kinked yarn in the newer one) Also started the Leaflines shawlette. I have tried this one twice before and finally am happy with the yarn and color changes. Ideally the color changes wouldn't be quite so long. Saturday afternoon, there were 3 deer, a mohter and two babies eating mushrooms outside my house. I took a few pictures through the window.   I then went to work. Came home the following morning to this guy walking...

Not much more done with the cross-stitch. But I only work on it a day or two. I finished two things. First is the Sun Blossom Mandala Doily. And I just finished this one about 10 minutes ago, 'Yes, Yes Shawl' made with Red Heart's Unforgettable in Tidal. Still working on this shawl. Got a little stuck because of an error. Will have to redo the last 3 rows. Then here's part 1 of the stash I ordered Sunday. All cotton except for the blue cashmere/linen on the top left and the silks to the right of that. And all fingering/lace weight except for the purple DK at the top right. And the sewing patterns. 64, whittled down from 82 I believe. At some point this week, I'll put them on my pinterest board. Back to work on some things I've already started before beginning something with my new yarn.
