DWTS Season 19: Week 11 Night 2

And tonight is officially the last night of the season.   Randy. Foxtrot is still the best dance of the three he did. Never quite lived up to that potential with the Latin dances. I liked Artem and Lindsay dancing. Cute America tease from Val and Janel. Jonathon. Don't put him next to Twitch. Betsey. The pink button on the tutu was distracting and she still couldn't remember the routine. I think Sadie danced that cha cha better at the beginning of the season. Michael. He's still horrible. Antonio. Knees were too bent and I think he did heel leads. Alfonso didn't go quite as all out as the first time he danced the Carlton. Lea. She could do so much more. I refer you to the pro dance with Karina, Maks, and Tony to the same song. And another two good pro routines and teases. Tommy. And he completely forgot the majority of the routine. A beautiful pro Viennese Waltz. Cute cake. Happy birthday Bruno! Bethany. She k...

DWTS Season 19: Week 11 night 1

It's the finale! Where did the season go? Round 1 - judges pick Bethany. It was pretty good. A few places she messed up and got out of time with Derek. I'll give her the scores. Sadie. No bounce or hips. Same as last time. She also seemed to mess up a bit as well. Too high. Janel. I think the song fits salsa more then samba. It wasn't as clean as it could've been. Her injury was affecting her. Alfonso. Only dance so far that I felt hadn't dropped from its first performance. I agree with the scores. Round 2 - freestyle Bethany. I liked the tricks but in surprised they went so hip hop. I'll give them the scores but a little high for me. Sadie. Cute but i felt there were parts that didn't for her. Too high. Janel. That fit them. I agree with the scores. Alfonso. Very fun. The most 'ballroom' of the freestyles. I agree with the scores. Freestyles canceled each other out in terms of scoring, as usual. And t...

Overnight shifts really mess with me. Anyway, this is what I accomplished on peacocks. Not bad for a total of about 8 hours... Stitched in the wee hours of the morning... My progress on Insanity. I didn't get that much done this week. I had a small, unplanned cave to stash, again. I started looking at Annie's and there was a pattern on sale, with 3 left that I had to get. It's also no longer listed on their website. It's almost a dead ringer to Onyx. See? She was laying on my lap at the time that picture was taken. Since I can never seem to order just one thing (might as well maximize my shipping), also picked up the following plus 2 jewelry kits. The longer it takes for a possible Black Friday sale online, the longer my list gets. I also got a little frantic when I realized I couldn't find a piece of fabric. Thankfully I did locate it but it wasn't where I thought it was.

DWTS season 19: week 10

I'm on time again this week. Sadie. It wasn't bad but it didn't feel like a Quickstep to me. And the beginning seemed slow. Too high for me. Tommy. I don't know if he did anything during that routine. Too high. Bethany. I felt it was too up. It was staccato. Cute routine but not really samba. Too high. Janel. Another odd musical choice. I felt like Val dragged her around a few moves. I agree with the scores. Alfonso. It was probably due to his back but he looked restrained. He didn't do much. The song was more a cha cha. A little high. Unplugged round. Sadie. The guitar was interesting but detracted for me. A little high for me. Tommy. Still a lot of Peta dancing around him. Timing went off several times. Too high. Bethany. I was concentrating more on the movement of the frame than her dancing. I'll give them the scores. Janel. Best Argentine Tango of the night. The transitions out of the lifts could've been better. I...

It starts

My progress on Insanity. The next page is mostly sky, as is the rest of the row. It should hopefully take less time. Also, shipment #1 came in. Blue Dragon Fairy is backordered and the Threedles design was not a kit but a really detailed instruction sheet. Either way, I just had to start on Peacocks. I found it interesting how they packaged the anchor thread. And this is what I accomplished in about two hours around 3am. Had to stop because I had trouble focusing my eyes. And apparently my camera didn't orient correctly. Please tilt your head to the left to properly view photo. Ended up working on this for four hours.   I made this previously in Tudor. Making it again to check hours spent and also to get a better picture of the finished product as the original is no longer in my possession. I also frogged my Chrysanthemum Shawl and started over with the recommended hook size. I had gone down 1mm to match gauge but it came out small and the 4th ball of ...

DWTS Season 19: Week 9

Sorry for the late post, I was on set last night and didn't get home until almost 4am. Why is Tommy safe? Alfonso. Pretty good. Rise and fall was a bit abrupt. I like her dress. I agree with the scores. Just an odd note, why was that last tweet they showed about Randy couture? Tommy. It was ok. He messed up at the end. Viennese Waltz has the fewest syllabus steps. I'll agree with the scores. Lea. There was no bounce and get knees were too bent at the beginning. I liked the choreography. I'll don't think it was 9s. Bethany. Pretty. I agree with the scores. Sadie. Her feet never pointed. I felt it was sloppy in her lower body. A little high for me. Janel. Nice and crisp. There was a stumble at one point but they caught back up. I agree with the scores. Trio dance. Alfonso. I liked it. Having done flamenco earlier helped. I agree with the scores. Tommy. He didn't do much. And he walked through most of the samba steps. 7s were re...

I caved

Although I haven't really finished anything this week, I do have "finishes". I have finished page 2 of Fantasy Triptych. I have finished page 3 of Insanity. (I know it's still the top of a tree) And I have finished sewing the heptagons to the afghan. But in reference to the title of the this post, I have finally caved in regards to Stitch From Stash. I may have gone a bit overboard with the combination of gift money plus Joann's sale on DMC. It started off with knowledge of the sale and 'innocently' browsing the clearance page at abcstitch. Which led to the following purchases. Peacocks   Holiday Tree V   Watergarden   Cirque Des Cercles   Dragon's Eye   Looking Glass - Black  Sleepy Hollow   Blue Dragon Fairy   The peacock and Looking Glass are kits, and the last one is the only non-sale item. I then made a list of thread for the following: (Oriental, Leopard in the Grass, and Friends) ...
