#24hoursOfCrossStitch January

Image
Let me start with my minimal update to Waterfall Dragons. I don't know whether it's the colors or the fact that I was parking with them, I had trouble wanting to continue this piece. I did ten rows then switched projects. The dice gave me a tree skirt which I then used for January's 24 Hours of Cross Stitch marathon challenge. Before and After photos: And this is the size of the fabric I'm working with. Very stiff 11 count Aida. I have large pieces of fabric, but they're all evenweaves and will easily roll up out of the way. Fabric is actually folded in half. That side remains unstitched. I really want to buy yarn/cross stitch kits and am testing my willpower. I have shopping carts on various sites but haven't pressed the order button, yet...

The first rolls of the dice

Image
This is where I finished on Once Upon a Fairytale. Just shy of a page finish, but those colors wander onto adjacent pages. My first roll of the dice brought me to A Dragon's Best Friend, one of my rotation from last year. I did the top half of the second page. Next two rolls were some organizing/inventorying. I made this section of my apartment a tiny bit neater than this photo. And found these lovely skeins in a bin of ribbon ruffle yarn. Made  a post  to keep track of it and the eventual project. Next up, Oriental Butterfly. I've had this in my stash for a very long time and haven't worked on it in over 8 years as I had deemed it a travel project. I haven't traveled too much since then. Finished it up with the bottom third, the Chinese characters on the side, and of course, the backstitching. My first finish of 2020 and it's not an ornament. One New Year's Resolution complete. Two more organization rolls yesterday before the final rol...

Loops and Thread Impeccable - Summerset

I have four balls of this yarn for about 780 yards in total. I think I initially bought it for a scarf, thinking the colors looked kind of fall-ish. As most scarf patterns call for roughly half, I can either pair it with a matching hat or find something else entirely. This post will be updated when I figure out what to do with it. Suggestions welcome.

One week later with Pattern Keeper

Image
.5% to 1.13% just from stitching cross country with Pattern Keeper for a week. Almost done with the first page. And my setup. Found a 10" Tab 4 at my parents. My dad wasn't using it anymore and it had the right OS version (barely). Bought a cheap cover for it to prop it up and reduce the glare from my lamp. Clyde enjoying a sunbeam in his tree during the almost 70 degree weather.

Current progress on Once Upon a Fairytale (.5%). I've started using Pattern Keeper on this one because my print out it unreadable on some tiny symbols. So far so good, but I will need a tablet to fully do a piece with the program. Was trying to use my old kindle fire, but the operating system is too old. Currently researching cheap androids so I don't have to deal with putting Google Play on it. Suggestions welcome. As I'm going to have some free time, is there other content you'd like to see from me? On the days my dice roll has me inventorying my stash, I figure I'd make a post about some of the yarn/fabric I'm not sure what project to make with it. Suggestions welcome, even if I would have to spin it off into another blog.
