Sew Dance

As the 24 hour challenge has me working on pieces based on time, here is the difference of 8 hours between a piece with 3 colors and one with moderate confetti. And here's the overall progress between the two. Also started 4 Horses of the Apocalypse which has been in my stash forever (15th pattern I entered on my thread spreadsheet). Originally planned for 18 ct, but it is perfect for a scrap piece of 28 ct. Earlier shot with pencil eraser for reference. I think I'm a little crazy doing this 1 over 1 without parking... Working on Triptych again. After I finish that I have 2 left, Spirit of the Black Leopard which is coming on vacation with me, and Waterfall Dragons which will be another new start. 81 pages, but the last column and bottom row are very skinny, so 64 and change?

2 weeks and page 6 is done, and I've officially gone through my 11 piece rotation. Also picked this figurine up for my collection. Now onto some crochet.

So I'm a little over halfway done with page 6 on Insanity. It was helpful that the first 13 rows were the same color. Although now I've run into a snag. I'm missing 367 from my master set so I'll have to steal from another project until I can get a new one.

Merry Christmas! I hope all of you are enjoying some sort of craft today even if just for a few stitches. Page 5 of Insanity is complete. Made this cute little guy in a day. And finally put together my ort ornaments. Still need to find the bag with 2016. Also did some repair work. (You can also see the difference a normal bulb vs. my daylight bulb makes with the colors) Started this afghan, Treasures of the Sun King. Clyde somehow hurt his back paw/hip a few days ago so he's been staying still (gasp!) the past few days. Vet gave him some pain meds and they seem to be working.

Yup. Still insane. 10 rows left on page 5. Going to finish those up then make some ornaments. Then maybe I'll crochet until the new year. I think I'll start Dragon Dancer just to get some pink in my rotation.

Or rather insane. Started with 10 rows on the page, now at 40. I've also started thinking of a rotation for next year. So far I have the following: The Accolade (GK) The Arab Tent (GK) Insanity (GK) Cinderella and the Prince (retired HAED) Fantasy Triptych (Wentzler) Black Stallion (HAED) Dragon Carousel (Allison) Best Friend (Allison) Stroke of Midnight (Wentzler) Alternative Reality (HAED) I'm thinking of adding a new one of a HAED I purchased directly from them that I already have the material for. Preferably in a color family different from the others. That narrows it down to Dragon Dancer, 4 Heavenly Beasts, Chase, and Tempest. Current colors are dark, brown, green/sky blue, beige, purple, red/gold.

This week has been pretty cruddy to me. It started off with me having to find a new job. My  LinkedIn profile  if anyone is interested. I also had to say goodbye to Onyx. She suddenly went downhill starting on Wednesday. I had her for 12 years and I miss her. As for crafting, I started to get bored with Insanity. Switched over to an afghan I had started a while ago that I found tucked away in my closet (of doom) And have pulled out TW's Romeo and Juliette. Which I don't think I've worked on since I started this blog. I did end up going on a tiny bit of a stash spending spree just because I was miserable. Got the last peacocks and also bought some yarn. I had to order yarn anyway because I'm making an afghan as a wedding present. I leave you with a few of my favorite pictures of my Onyx.

I have a page finish. Only 149 to go. haha. Good news is the sky will take almost no time at all due to the large blocks of single colors. As you can see below, I've managed to get a lot done today because ~30 stitches per row with no color changes. Also felt I should probably show you my Monday night project.

62/72 rows completed I have some blue! Also got some stash. 5 yards of 25ct lugana to do my HAED's on. Also got the fabric and a specialty thread for the dragons.

I've finished row 50 of page 4. I was looking through the pattern and I discovered that pages 6-16 are pretty much all sky and large clumps of about 3 colors. They should go real quick once I get to them.

So I'm slightly more than halfway through the page. In another 10 rows I'll have some blue. I was getting annoyed with the extra fabric so I decided to roll it from the bottom. Of course that required me to unfold the entire piece of fabric. I forgot how big this was. I think I ordered 55x55? I fell prey to the HAED sale... The last two are Maxine Gadd who's work is retiring. And a cute photo of Onyx from today. She once fell through those bars and has since learned to brace herself with her back feet. She also spent the next month after falling, hugging the back wall whenever she came into or out of my room.
