Peacocks is complete! Also worked on part 3 of the CAL I should probably start weaving in some ends. But now to choose my next project. hehe.

I'm working on Pg6A of my peacocks. Just one more row of pages after this then some backstiching.   And here's part 2 of the mystery CAL. Found some previously made squares had and extra stitch and had to rework the last two rows.

So I'm working on Pg6 of Peacocks. All colors have officially been used. Additionally I started the Yarnspirations CAL. 20 granny squares made for part 1. Came across another CAL called Sophie's Universe which is calling to me... But I shall refrain. For now. Still applying to jobs, have an interview on Monday for a possible opportunity. Also starting to look into freelance work some more.

I'm now officially on the 2nd half of this piece. Pg5 is complete except for one tiny section which requires Pg5A to be mostly complete so I don't mess up on stitch counts. At this point there are only 2 colors I still haven't used. I came up with an idea for a video, possibly a series. Focusing on how long cross-stitch and crochet takes. And pricing. I know for my cross-stitch, I'm going to use the following two, possibly more as illustrations. My question to the general population, is what price would you consider paying for these pieces?

The 2nd peacock.   Also made this. And here's Onyx laying between 2 pillows and a folded afghan. I also succumbed to ABC Stitch's 20% off sale. I did stick to the clearance page. I had been perusing it a week ago. A few things I saw had gone by the time I decided to actually order something.    Also bought yarn for a Mystery CAL . Rather, my mom bought it. She picked out the colors. She's been wanting an afghan for a while but could never tell me exactly what she wanted. Yarn on the left is the main color.

We reached our verdict on Thursday afternoon. Jury duty is over and I'm free! Finished PG3a, onto PG4. The tail has started to emerge. Also back to the job hunt now that I am reachable within normal business hours.

I didn't make as much progress as the last few weeks because I've been at jury duty all week. I've been exhausted. It took until Friday night for me to feel mentally able to stitch. But pg3 is complete. Of course writing is also put on hold until this case is finished. There is no way my muse can work when I'm listening to lawyers all week.

I finished pages 2, 2a, and have most of 3 completed on Peacocks. If this looks familiar it's because it is. I finally finished my redo of my Chrysanthemum shawl. It now matches the finished size from the pattern, but I didn't use the 4th ball of yarn Also finished this little guy although I'm going to reattach his limbs so he's a little floppier. Right now he doesn't sit up on his own. Also going to add a mane. Also accomplished this week is forcing myself to write. I bought a course a few year ago and am going to make it through it to the end this time. I bundled the first 3 weeks of lessons together so at the moment, I'm letting my muse fly around and find me new ideas. So far it likes to bring them to me when I'm trying to go to sleep. I'm also back on the job hunt. I've had a freelance job since October and while that gave me peace of mind to take a rest from applying for a while, it's only once or twice a week now th...

Welcome to 2015. I'm still working on a project from 2014, but at least now you can see why it's named Peacocks. I've finished pg1a and am almost complete with pg2 with pg2a soon to follow. The reason for the a's is the original chart was on a very large sheet of paper and I had to split it to make a working copy. Earlier this week I replaced what my mother had termed the 'leaning tower of pisa'  With a new version. It was hard to find comparable drawer sizes. And despite the shorter size, I actually have more room with these new ones. And this was my birthday companion. Never left my bed. Actually she's been on my bed all day today as well...

I finished my final Christmas ornament on Christmas Eve. Just in time. All 6 of the ones I made this year are now on my tree. So, I went back to Peacocks. Almost done with the first page.   I had a lovely, quiet, Christmas. My gifts this year seemed to have a 'beauty' theme to them. I knew I wasn't getting any craft supplies. My parents believe I have too much already.

I was surprising busy this week. Either that or I kept switching crochet projects that are meant as Christmas presents and can't post photos. However, I didn't work on Insanity this week. I did a bit of work on Peacocks because I have other projects planned for my overnight. 3 of my orders came on Saturday, finished this guy last night and almost have the other similar ornament finished as well.

Overnight shifts really mess with me. Anyway, this is what I accomplished on peacocks. Not bad for a total of about 8 hours... Stitched in the wee hours of the morning... My progress on Insanity. I didn't get that much done this week. I had a small, unplanned cave to stash, again. I started looking at Annie's and there was a pattern on sale, with 3 left that I had to get. It's also no longer listed on their website. It's almost a dead ringer to Onyx. See? She was laying on my lap at the time that picture was taken. Since I can never seem to order just one thing (might as well maximize my shipping), also picked up the following plus 2 jewelry kits. The longer it takes for a possible Black Friday sale online, the longer my list gets. I also got a little frantic when I realized I couldn't find a piece of fabric. Thankfully I did locate it but it wasn't where I thought it was.

My progress on Insanity. The next page is mostly sky, as is the rest of the row. It should hopefully take less time. Also, shipment #1 came in. Blue Dragon Fairy is backordered and the Threedles design was not a kit but a really detailed instruction sheet. Either way, I just had to start on Peacocks. I found it interesting how they packaged the anchor thread. And this is what I accomplished in about two hours around 3am. Had to stop because I had trouble focusing my eyes. And apparently my camera didn't orient correctly. Please tilt your head to the left to properly view photo. Ended up working on this for four hours.   I made this previously in Tudor. Making it again to check hours spent and also to get a better picture of the finished product as the original is no longer in my possession. I also frogged my Chrysanthemum Shawl and started over with the recommended hook size. I had gone down 1mm to match gauge but it came out small and the 4th ball of ...
