SFS2015A - set up

Welcome to another year of Stitch from Stash. Some rules have changed. First, there is no exemption month. So no crazy November spending spree without a gift card. Second, You add money to the budget when you complete something. Those are the two that are most important to me.

I have way too many projects as it is. Therefore, to not be picking from a list of over 50. I've narrowed it down to try and work on projects that didn't give me exact-ish floss usage to better gauge what I need to buy next time I go on a DMC raid at Joann's. This gets rid of all kits that I've bought and Golden Kites. HAED's are iffy because they give me stitch counts and I've estimated them on my spreadsheet. I've been left with the following:

  20. Cinderellas coach
1-6 and already started, the rest are ready to go. There are always exceptions as I'm still working on Peacocks and I will be stitching at least one GK.

    Great idea to concentrate on a lesser number. I'm trying to work on 30 as CJC and this year it includes WIPs, so that works better for me. Fingers crossed you get some finished to add to your stash budget!

    I love the titles of all these patterns! Can't wait to see progress pics. You probably have some already, but I'm behind in my blog reading/commenting and am covering them in order. :)

      I'm pretty sure there are pictures of all the finished patterns on my stash list (a tab at the top of my blog). I know some of the links are broken and I intend to remedy that soon, but it's a start.

Eclectic update and more stash

Another busy week coupled with the fact that I spent the majority of my free time over the weekend working on my dress caused me not to have that much done on insanity. I did however manage to finish my three pumpkins this week (and had a full ball left over) and also started the snowman tonight as my brain was too tired to deal with insanity. Although I haven't managed to work on certain projects as I would like, I got more stash. I had to go to joann's to pick up thread for my dress last week. While there, I have a tendency to rummange through the other departments to see if anything catches my eye. Although the cross-stitch section isn't all that great, I did find the following: Sebastian and Sebastian rose by Design Works. I was tempted by two other designs featuring a white cat and a leopard purse and one with a leopard shoe, but I prefered these for some reason, maybe Onyx had an influence. They came as a pack. And the dress is done.

I promised pictures and I have them. Two at least. I'll eventually get action shots but for now you can imagine what happens when I spin. I do have long gauntlets/gloves that I wear with the dress but I forgot to put them on before taking the pictures. I had a long day at the competition, started at 10:30am didn't finish until probably 10:30pm. 61 dances, smooth and latin. Placed top 3 in all except one where I placed 4th. I'm not usually that tan and it still hasn't completely come off. And the white part of my french manicure is now a bit brown as well. I completely forgot to pick up the DVD I had asked to be taped and now will have to figure out how to get a hold of it. Overall I managed to win $600. Not anywhere near enough to cover the costs but more than I've won previously and should give my credit card a nice relief for next month. I finished page 5 of The Arab Tent last night. Three more full pages and one page of 5 stitches to complete the first row. I don't have much more of an update this week.
