Moon

Image
I started the moon on Sleepy Hollow, and the pumpkin head. Also fixed the mistake on the shirt and sewed it up. Ready to wear. Also glad I went up a size as it would've been too small.   And here's Onyx using my flip-flops as a pillow.

SFS2015 - May

Image
Month: May Spent: 43.67+$50 gift card Earned: 27.56 I finished a page on In the Garden and finally get to count Peacocks. I also started Sleepy Hollow. And in non-cross stitch projects, I finished the following.   I know the shirt doesn't look finished, but I did it right before writing this post and don't have a picture of it. And now, there's the stash. Top yarns are for an afghan for a friend. The next is my ordered yarn, and the 3rd picture are ones that came with that order which I can only assume were free gifts. And then there were the sales. I refrained from ABC Stitch's 20% off sale, but caved at Herrshners which had certain kits priced at 19.99 or lower. Making one I had been eyeing, 50% off. Then this cutie pillow. And these two ornaments. I also took advantage of Joann's Memorial Day sale along with a gift card to acquire stash. Sewing patterns, some fabric (including a leopard print), lots of DMC (not pictured)...

Change of design

I made a change of projects. I did say I was tired of blue. I also know I'm a bit early for Halloween, but I'm hoping to have it done by then. Say hello to Sleepy Hollow, which is about a 10-15 minute drive away from me. I also took advantage of Joann's Memorial Day sale along with a gift card to acquire stash. Sewing patterns, some fabric (including a leopard print), lots of DMC and two patterns. The gift card covered the cross-stitch portion of the stash. Wizard by Design Works. And Dragon Circle.

Dwts season 20: week 10 night 2

Cute opening. I preferred Riker's jive more than the freestyle. Redfoo. Probably a good choice not to really dance. Stupid song. Charlotte. Still bad. Alfonso and Sadie. Cute but Sadie had some trouble controlling her limbs. Suzanne. Poor Tony. Robert. Clearly didn't work on technique when they spent time after he got eliminated. Noah and Amy. Short, I'm surprised they didn't dance together longer. Chris. Still has bad footwork. Nastia. Still a cute routine. And still an earworm of a song. Dance Hard. Hahaha. Rumer. Fun. And val didn't get hurt with the lift. Willow. Still a crazy foxtrot. I like the bloopers. And the Magic Mike-esque routine. Derek and Julianne. Interesting. Patti. This was one of the routines she did that she actually did the dance she was assigned. Fusion round. Noah. I saw more argentine Tango than cha cha. And he lifted her most of the time. A little too high  for me. Ri...

DWTS season 20: week 10 night 1

Redo round. Noah. While more engaged in the dance, there were more technical hiccups. But she's still mostly dancing around him. I'll agree with the scores, based on the previous scores. Riker. Still frantic but that's what you get for dancing a paso to a Viennese Waltz. I'll give him the scores. Rumer. She lightened the mood this time around. Less staccato. I agree with the scores. Freestyles Noah. I wasn't moved. Too high for me. Riker. Cute but I felt it didn't fit him completely. Something felt off to me. Too high for me. Rumer. Thank you for doing ballroom. I agree with the scores. The judges made the freestyle scoring moot but I expected that.

Shirt

Image
So, I made a tiny bit of progress on In the Garden, but I've gotten sick of the blues. Again. Thankfully this wasn't my focus for the week.   I made a shirt! Please note, it's a little damp as I wore it once before taking a photo so the fabric is doing some funky things.   I also finished crocheting the t-shirt I was working on. Or so I thought, the back is wider than the front and now I have to figure out how to fix it. Good news is the discrepancy is near the top. Bad news is, not sure where...

DWTS season 20: week 9

Semi finals Rumer. Very good Viennese Waltz. I agree with the scores. Noah. It was awkward in hold and Sharna danced around him a lot. Too high for me. I had a feeling he was going to propose before he got down on his knee. Riker. I felt that was a lot of spinning and flipping Alison. He didn't quite match her on the side by side moves. Too high for me. Nastia. I liked it but I don't think her head was to the left at all during the dance. It was either straight or right. I liked her dress too. I guess I'll give her the scores. I love good pro dances. Judges choice. A lot more involved than usual. Rumer. Swan lake Bruno? Really? It somehow worked. I agree with the scores. Too high. Noah. I felt he got lost. The other men could produce higher quality movement. Riker. I felt he could've done more. A few places felt his footwork was too small. Too high. Nastia. Cute. A little repetitive with the choreography though. I guess I'll ...

Page 9

I finished page 9 of In the Garden this week. Also finished this shawl.  And then there were the sales. I refrained from ABC Stitch's 20% off sale, but caved at Herrshners which had certain kits priced at 19.99 or lower. Making one I had been eyeing, 50% off. Then this cutie pillow. And these two ornaments. I did work the shirt I'm crocheting, but it doesn't look much different than last week's picture except it's longer.

Dwts season 20: week 8

Noah. Unfortunately Tango is supposed to be danced with bent knees. It looked awkward. Little too high for me. Chris. He did almost nothing except lift her. Way too high. Riker. A little too strong on the downbeat. He seemed to be on the edge of control with his feet.  Robert. He did a bit more then Chris but not much. Too high. Nastia. The passion came and went for me. Too much static posing. I agree with the scores. Rumer. Feet could have been cleaner by brushing through the ankles. I agree with the scores. Trio round. Noah. He kind of stayed in one place. Too high. Chris. It felt like paso by the numbers. Not good. Too high. Riker. That was interesting. Not really my style. I'll give him the scores. Robert. That wasn't good. Bad bounce, messed up footwork, and way too many other things. Way too high. Nastia. Clever. A few places could have been cleaner. Tiny bit high but I'll give her the scores. Rumer. Best paso of the ni...

Yarn and fabric

Image
I've gotten into a book series which has eaten into my crafting time this week. Page is almost done, just haven't finished it off, yet. Started a shawl.   And a shirt. And my yarn order came.  These were free gift, I think.   And here's some fabric I picked up. Mostly cotton with lycra. These are the colors for an afghan for a friend, but I'm not happy with the 2nd to last colors. Have another one coming. If that doesn't match better I'll just pick one because I'm out of options at that point. Although my camera makes it look like the bottom matches a bit better than I thought.
