Dwts season 20: week 7

It's eras week. Riker. Cute. Lyrics didn't match the decade though. Seemed a bit compact but that might have been more size of the floor. I agree with the scores. Chris. Bit heavy on the down of the rise and fall. He looked leaning forward in hold, could have stood up straighter. Despite the improvement he's still the weakest left. I'll give him the scores. Rumer. chasses could be more defined. It was cute. The song was more a swing then Jive bit the show tends to do that. A little low. Noah. I felt there wasn't enough movement for the song. Too high. Robert. He didn't move that much. A few times i think mum didn't execute the moves as well as she could have. A bit high. Nastia. I enjoyed it but I really don't know Charleston. I also liked the song. I'll give them the scores. Willow. Odd. I had trouble getting into that one. Too high for me. Dance off round. Riker vs. Willow. I give it to Willow for content. Wooho...

SFS2015 - April

Image
Month: April Spent: 72.44 Earned: 16.54 I finished 2 pages of In the Garden and am almost done with a 3rd. I finished lots of crocheted items. I also gained stash. Halloween Fairy, Sunflower Fairy, and Crystal Tree chart downloads and Lilac Fairy, a Vervaco kit that's been on my wishlist for a while. All from Herrschners. Also bought yarn for a few projects, including an afghan as a housewarming gift for a friend. Of course while browsing a site I needed to buy one particular yarn from, I found there were only 3 left of this pattern. And the other was just too cute to resist.  I also won a chart from the Counted Wishes Festival.  I chose Ms. Sable from Blueladie Designs . And this one was a gift (bribe) from my mom.

Not much time

Image
I didn't have much time for crafts this week as I ended up working 6 out of the last 7 days, but I spent it on my cross-stitch. This is what I saw when I came home on Saturday after working 5:30a to 2:30p. Not her usual spot on my bed. I can't quite tell if that expression means she missed me or 'oh, you're back'.

Dwts season 20: week 6

Patti. Good for her to keep going with one shoe but there wasn't much Quickstep. Too high. Nastia. A little too much hopping for me but it was danced well. I'm surprised no one commented on the break in hold but they may have taken off for it. I'll give them the scores. Willow. I didn't care for it. I think her knees were bent too much. A little high for me. Robert. That was cute but technique sucked. Too high. Noah. Unfortunately he didn't really move. Too high. Rumer. She got a bit out of sync with the girls. But otherwise it was good but there could have been more. I'll give them the scores. Chris. It felt rough. There isn't a rise and fall in viennese Waltz bit every downbeat he dropped like a rock. Too high. Riker. Oh look hips! A bit out of control though. I'll give them the scores. Now for the team dances. Team yolo. It was cute. Maybe a little high. Team trouble. I felt like this was better executed even t...

Mostly crochet

Image
I mostly did crochet this week. Made a few things but the days I was going to work on cross-stitch got interrupted. I finished the mystery CAL. Also made two shawls. Also bought yarn for a few projects, including an afghan as a housewarming gift for a friend. Of course while browsing a site I needed to buy one particular yarn from, I found there were only 3 left of this pattern. And the other was just too cute to resist.  And now for interesting picture of the day. The remains of my dad's cappuccino.

Dwts season 20: week 5

Cute opening. I can tell what movies they'll each be dancing to by the costumes. Except maybe one. Suzanne. Even without the mess up, she wasn't doing much. Too high. Robert. He got out of time at the beginning and a bit in the middle. It seemed a bit slow. I agree with the scores. Cute Paso interlude. Patti. Pretty but barely could be considered a waltz. No rise and fall. Too high. Willow. Nor bad but the music was too dramatic for a foxtrot. Don't know if I'd give it 9s. Chris. Too careful. Lots of hopping in place almost. Frame fell. Tad too high. Noah. The focus was on Sharna twirling around him, distracting from his lack of fluidity. But he did well. I'll give him the scores. Riker. That was good. A bit frantic as the song is more suited to a Viennese Waltz. I agree with the scores. Cute 10 paddles for the week. Rumer. She lost the bounce a bit but her footwork was correct for the rolls. I agree with the scores. Nastia. ...

One more clue

Image
First, my progress on In the Garden. Next, my progress on the mystery CAL. One more clue, released Tuesday, and it'll be done. If you notice something different it's because I used the wrong color last week. Took up some time to redo it. Also got a new catalog in the mail, Keepsake NeedleArts . As a gift, more of a bribe really, my Mom bought me something that had been on my wishlist for a while, Sassy Cat.

Dwts season 20: week 4

Another week another theme. Nastia. Really cool lifts but that seemed to be all there were. Lifts and tricks. Not that it wasn't pretty. Don't know if it was worth a 10. Michael. I felt he did a lot of spinning,  running to Peta, and standing in place. There were heel leads. Not worth 8s. Riker. Not bad. Little frantic and the song was odd for a Tango. Don't know if it was worth 9s. Robert. Not bad. He's better with ballroom than Latin. Rise and fall was a bit staccato in the middle. 8s yes, 9s no. Chris. His knees were bent too much. At times he looked uncomfortable and he didn't move much. I agree with Len. Patti. Once again she didn't do much. It was fun to watch. Too high. Rumer. I liked it. The song is not really a waltz so it was hard to do much basic. I think that was the first time they didn't use an actual waltz. I'll agree with the scores. Suzanne. Cute but that's the extent of it. The costume is unflatterin...

2nd row done

Image
I've finished another page. It's a small page, but it completes row 2. Started the border of the CAL. And made a friend for my bunny from last week. I also won a chart from the Counted Wishes Festival.  I chose Ms. Sable from Blueladie Designs . I also caved and bought the following. Halloween Fairy, Sunflower Fairy, and Crystal Tree chart downloads and Lilac Fairy, a Vervaco kit that's been on m y wishlist for a while. All from Herrschners. I also decided last minute to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo. My goal is 10,000 words for the month. It's more an exercise into writing daily than to try and get a first draft of a novella out.
