I've been a bad girl

I didn't work on any cross-stitch this week. I was crocheting only. I got one side of the ripples done on the afghan.


But because of the repetitiveness, I alternated with a doily. I had done some of this earlier during one of my long breaks at school. When I got bored with making scarves.



But now for the reason for the title of this post. I've been very bad this week with acquiring stash.

Let's start with some I purchased these a few weeks ago at a local store, Annie's and Co., but kept forgetting to add them to my posts.

Be A Dragon by Enchanting Lair (came with the variegated thread and the charm)

28ct Cashel in Jade by Enchanting Lair (it's darker than the photo)

Mermaid's Love Tokens by Praiseworthy Stitches (came with the beads, pin, and fish)


I don't know what made me look at sew and so's site, but I did. And I noticed one of my wishlist items was discontinued and they only had 3 left in stock. So I caved and bought it. Along with the other dance themed ones I had found earlier, and 2 that I didn't previously. I browsed the sale page and found one (also discontinued), and then noticed a companion piece.

The two discontinued ones, Street Tango by Vervaco and Argentine Tango by RTO.

Friday, due to coupons, I picked up these because I thought they were cute.

    I love the frogs Katie and that top with the lacing in the back is beautiful. Will that be for another dancing dress?

      Thanks, the frogs are cute. As for the top, I may use elements. It's actually the jacket part of an entire Victorian ensemble. I've put the pattern numbers on my pinterest board http://pinterest.com/khascat/sewing-patterns/ It has a slightly different picture there, but it's in the same fabric.

Eclectic update and more stash

Another busy week coupled with the fact that I spent the majority of my free time over the weekend working on my dress caused me not to have that much done on insanity. I did however manage to finish my three pumpkins this week (and had a full ball left over) and also started the snowman tonight as my brain was too tired to deal with insanity. Although I haven't managed to work on certain projects as I would like, I got more stash. I had to go to joann's to pick up thread for my dress last week. While there, I have a tendency to rummange through the other departments to see if anything catches my eye. Although the cross-stitch section isn't all that great, I did find the following: Sebastian and Sebastian rose by Design Works. I was tempted by two other designs featuring a white cat and a leopard purse and one with a leopard shoe, but I prefered these for some reason, maybe Onyx had an influence. They came as a pack. And the dress is done.

I promised pictures and I have them. Two at least. I'll eventually get action shots but for now you can imagine what happens when I spin. I do have long gauntlets/gloves that I wear with the dress but I forgot to put them on before taking the pictures. I had a long day at the competition, started at 10:30am didn't finish until probably 10:30pm. 61 dances, smooth and latin. Placed top 3 in all except one where I placed 4th. I'm not usually that tan and it still hasn't completely come off. And the white part of my french manicure is now a bit brown as well. I completely forgot to pick up the DVD I had asked to be taped and now will have to figure out how to get a hold of it. Overall I managed to win $600. Not anywhere near enough to cover the costs but more than I've won previously and should give my credit card a nice relief for next month. DWTS season 16: week 8

Next week is the semi-finals. Eek! Zendaya. A happy foxtrot. Odd music, but it worked. Smooth and graceful. I'll agree with the scores but depending on the rest of the night they could be higher. Sean. He looked like he was thinking too much. His posture was leaning towards Peta and his butt was sticking out. I guess I'll agree with the scores. Jacoby. I felt as if he could have stood up straighter. His footwork looked a bit odd at times. Ingo. It wasn't bad, but he could've been smoother in the footwork. He stepped back instead of gliding. I guess I'll give them the scores. Kellie. Why was she in place so much at the beginning? Then when they finally start to dance, I couldn't see her feet because of the fog. It was pretty.
